busy day - tub fixtures

After the appliance sale, we then picked up the last pieces of tile for the main bathroom. We had under estimated by a couple tiles. Hopefully Peter, the tile guy, will be able to finish up on Tuesday. It's looking so nice. He has done an excellent job. Once the tile is done, we can start to install the plumbing fixtures. The 27"x6' Duravit tub is ready to be set, but we need to install the tub fixtures first. So off to Morgans Plumbing Supply we went and these are the current contenders:

Grohe Eurodisc II

or we might go with something a little slimmer...of course I don't remember which this was, but believe it was a hansgrohe

Next week we should be receiving a bid for the shower doors. The big question is will we be able to afford the frameless like below:

And I still haven't decided on sinks yet. Here are a couple more.

bathroom inspiration - more sinks & tile

I was going through my photo library last night and didn't realize how many bathrooms I had photographed that use a vessel sink. I'm leaning towards a semi-recessed vessel for the upper bath. Something like this:

but I do love these:

and this one is similar to what I want to use for the downstairs bathroom, but as a pedestal. The mix of materials and colors in this bathroom is what we are going for. simple - clean - modern - classic

I like the striped tile floor here:

This one is a bit more traditional but I really like mix of circle sizes and the accent color.

bathroom inspiration - sinks

On Sundays, Neil and I like to go to AIA or BuiltGreen open houses. It's a great way to see details up close and be inspired. We have 3 bathroom sinks to choose - one will be a pedestal and the other 2 either a vessel or drop-in. I love this cabinet and simple white counter with undermount...and check out the faucet.

This is a bathroom at one of my projects with Ross Chapin Architects. It is a Caroma and what is great about it is it only needed about 10" of counter.

This one is also a Caroma and a contender for the 2nd upstairs bathroom. We have used it in many of our development homes at RCA.

Recently I had the opportunity of going on a 6 house tour of architect designed homes in Seattle. These were homes I would not normally be able to see. They all had clean modern detailing and lots of inspiration.
